Everyone at Ilus Elu is deeply committed to giving back to the community.  That means supporting our local farmers and wildcrafters by sourcing our supplies within 100 km, but it also means engaging with charities, not-for-profits, and other causes. 

In the past, we have given custom gift baskets and certificates for personal aroma consultations as silent auction and door prizes, and made in kind donations of our gentlest products to long term care facilities, shelters and hospices.  If we can provide an item(s) like this for your organization, or you have an even better idea of how Ilus Elu can help you, please write to us below! 

We have also previously donated 10% of our monthly profits to a charity, usually taking customer requests by month.  Now that we are slowly creating a new home for ourselves in Vancouver, it's time to find new local partners.  We have decided that a single local organization will now receive 5% of all profits, all year round.
  
We have chosen Canuck Place for our local donations.  North America's first dedicated children's hospice, Canuck Place provides pediatric palliative care and extensive family support services for children with life-threatening illnesses.  As most of our customers know, quality of care and comfort during illness is a matter very close to the hearts of Ilus Elu's staff.  We applaud Canuck Place for their work, and hope to further our support in future.   

The other 5% of our profits will continue to be donated in accordance with customer wishes.  This way we can continue to accommodate requests from those of you who are no longer local!  If you have a charity, cause or organization to suggest, please either include them in the comments to your order, or write to us below.  Past suggestions have included Naardemeer Nature Reserve, ACCESS, Humane Societies and many end-of-life initiatives.
